Abstract: Khanh Hau (Long An Province, Mekong Delta) is a rice growing delta villiage where two thirds of all households are engaged in rice farming. Rice is the main food staple and represents about forty per cent of the value of total food expenditures for a majority of villagers. Rough estimates of the amounts of rice, meat and vegetables consumed are given and the sale and purchase of food products are discussed. Food expenditure data are included.
