Abstract:	This paper is concerned with Chinese ceramic sherds excavated from Prasat Suor Prat in Angkor Thom, Cambodia. It focuses on 207 Chinese ceramic sherds collected from the site. They include 119 celadon, 64 qingbai and 24 white glazed pieces. As a preliminary study, this paper will begin with an introduction to Prasat Suor Prat site and the archaeological work concerned. The main part will adopt a typological approach and attempt to attribute probable dates and provenience to the sherds by comparing them with excavated pieces from kilns, datable tombs and hoards in South China provinces. This preliminary research will show that the sherds unearthed from Prasat Suor Prat came mainly from Fujian and Zhejiang provinces. Their production times range from the latter half of the 12th century to the fourth quarter of the 14th century. The last part will discuss whether a large proportion of the covered box fragments unearthed may have served funerary or ritual functions.
