The hoard of Wonoboyo was found by farmers at the village of Plosokuning, Wonoboyo, Jogonalan, Klaten, Central Java in 1990. The gold and silver objects that were found were sent to the Museum Nasional in Jakarta in 1991. These objects include pieces of jewelry, containers, and coins. Among the hoard are also objects bearing short inscriptions. The characters and the language are both Old Javanese. The style of the characters resembles that of the Lintakan inscription from A.D. 919. The techniques of writing vary from slightly scratched, quickly incised, deeply incised, to repeated deep incisions, pointillé and chiselled. Slightly scratched inscriptions are not included in this paper, because the objects concerned are now in the traveling exhibition in Europe. The other inscriptions can be divided into two groups: those giving a) the name and b) the weight of the objects. Inscriptions that give the weight of the objects have been discussed adequately by Mr. Riboet Darmosoetopo and Jan Wisseman Christie. This paper concentrates on the inscriptions that give names.
