Abstract:	Glass beads of the Early Historic Period in Southeast Asia are distinguished from those of the Late Prehistoric Period by the greater range of forms and colours, the appearance of multicolor glass, especially eye-, zone- and gold-foil beads and more sophisticated manufacturing techniques. Glass was clearly being made at a number of locations during this period although the evidence of the crafts' Indian heritage is still strong.
