Abstract: The present paper is a review of the Eurasian species which can be attributed to the genera Dicynodon and Lystrosaurus (Therapsida: Dicynodontia). The genus Dicynodon is represented in Scotland, in Russia (Russian platform) and in China (Xinjiang)
it is now known for sure from Laos. The genus Lystrosaurus is represented in India, in Russia (Russian platform) and in China (Xinjiang). The presence of Dicynodon in Laos implies necessarily a land connection between the Indochina block and Pangaea during the Late Permian. The probable existence of Lystrosaurus species which are represented both in Gondwanaland (South Africa, India and Antarctica) and in Xinjiang suggests the hypothesis of a terrestrial route situated East of the Tethys during the Early Triassic.
