| Abstract: | Prehistoric archaeology in south-east Asia has often lagged behind that of other regions because of its terrain, languages, and politics. Yet the record of human diversity and achievement in colonization, subsistence, and metallurgy is now exceptionally well-documented through a series of multidisciplinary projects. The paper presents an overview of recent field studies and notes the encouragement given by Grahame Clark to south-east Asian archaeology. |
