A group of students and professors of Anthropology, Archaeology Department, Silpakorn University went to the Mun-Chi basin area in the northeast Thailand from the middle of May to the beginning of June in 1981 to survey sites of ancient towns: Non Yang near Ban Kwao Khong, Tambon Khunanongpai, Chumphonburi district, and Ban Yaweuk, Chumphonburi district, in Surin province. Some remarkable evidence of the remains of an ancient prehistoric culture were discovered by the team and their detailed report is as follows.
