Abstract: The paper presents the whole collection of stone tools in Cao Bang collected by M. Colani 70 years ago. This collection is now kept in the Museum of Vietnamese History. The Cao Bang collection of stone tools are abundant in types and variformed. There are adzes with both shoulders and horizontal steps which are very typical of the Ha Giang culture, or there are calabash-shaped hoes with sloping shoulders that is also a peculiarity of Cao Bang area. The stone shovels are very similar to artifacts of the same kind in Cai Beo, Eo Bua (Cat Ba), Loc Binh (Lang Son) sites. These artifacts have appeared a lot in Guang Xi (China). This shows that there had already been the cultural interraction between the group of Nanning sites (Guang Xi) and the Ha Giang and Ha Long cultures.
