Abstract:	Hau Xa I is situated on the North-East slope of sandhill at hau Xa, next to jar burial area. With 48m of survey and excavation, two successive cultural layers were discovered. The first layer is about 0,60m thick, dating from 3rd-4th centuries to the 10th-11th centureis. The second layer is about 1m thick, dating from the 1st to the 3rd-4th centuries AD. The artifacts were varied in kinds of materials such as pottery, stone, glass, and bronze and show that this is the site with special charactersitics (religion, worship) of ancient Champa habitants. Hau Xa I site shows synchronic and diachronic cultural interraction between the Sa Huynh and champa cultures, between the Champa culture and Chinese, Indian, and may be Oc Eo cultures.
