Abstract: Based on the new archaeological discoveries of the Sa Huynh culture, 20 years after the discoverey at Long Thanh, the author has studied further and enlarge the analysis of the data collected from this site and has reached the conclusion that Long Thanh is a representative site of one type of early culture, in which appears basic cultural factors, forming the characteristics of the Sa Huynh Culture in early Iron Age afterwards. That is the tradition of big jar burials standing upright in group
the tradition of red and graphite painted cereamics combine with incised designs. The usage of hoes, axes, adzes with flared blades and long , thin bodies
the liking of wearing ornaments, including earrings with projections on outer side and beads shaped small bamboo nodes. The author states that : Starting to be formed about 3,000 years ago, the Sa Huynh Culture has the main distributive area in Southern Trung Bo (Central Part) with two local types with assumed landmark by Deo Ca (Ca pass). In the process of development, the Sa Huynh habitants enlarged the area of activities which were interwoven with the ding Son and Ding Nai Cultures.
