Abstract:	English summary on page 68 as follows: The authors of this article state that the commune house is a historical category having emergence and changes. The duality of the commune house express in two functions : power and religious functions. According to the authors, there is relationship between functions of the commune house and its architecture. Horizontal architecture (i.e. commune house with Dinh (J) shape or Cong (I) shape) coonects with religious function. Vertical Architecture appears in the late period. From horizontal to vertical architecture, commune house has been influenced by buddhist architecture.
