Vietnamese white-blue ceramic came into existence in the fourteenth century. From the next century, due to the advantages inside and outside the country, this kind has developed strongly and has become one of important goods for export, appearing in many places in the world like Japan, Indonesia, and Middle East. Commercial white-blue ceramic of Vietnam were produced at the centers in Bat Trang (near Thang Long capital), Chu Dau (Hai Hung prov. nowadays) with many types of products such as incense burners, candles as well as bowls, plates, jars, and vases. Due to the exchange and trade with foreigners, not only the technique and art of ceramic production developed but Vietnamese culture also renovated and got progressive.
