Abstract: Basing on the materials of some open pebble assemblayes in North - West, the author had pointed out the following characteristics: - There is a continuous development of pebble culture here from upper paleolithic to early Neolithic, during the transitional perios from Pleistocene to Holocene. - The distinction of environmentt and stone industries are showing in the local feature of pebble culture. - The pebble culture in North - western area is closely related with the pebble sites in higher section of Red, Lo and Luc Nam Rivers in such provinces as Lao Cai, Yen Bai, ha Giang, Ha Bac ect...
