Abstract: Engliash summary on page 54 as follows: Basing on the archaeological data from caves in South China, the author outlines the cultural changes from the Late Pleistocene to the Earlyt Holocene in this area: - From 30.000 to 20.000BP, flake industry was a characteristic of prehistoric cultures in South China
the economic activity mainly based on hunting than gathering. - From 20,000 to 12,000 BP, flake industry still existed but gradually reduced. Beside large flake tools, core tools were increasing, In the Northern part of South China, this change occured gradually but it seems stronger in the Southern part. the hunting - gathering ecomy was still maintained. - From 12,000 to 9,000 BP, the Neolithic period began. Pebble-core tools were a characteristic of stone industry in this stage. Flake tools decrteased, playing a supplementary role. Pottery appeared. Prehistoric men in South China were standing at the threshold of production economy.
