English summaryu on page 7 as follows: At present many scholars think that the worldwide climatic changes were all felt quite strongly in Southeast Asia. recent reconstruction of sea-levels, temperature, air circulation and precipitation indicate that environmental Conditions have changed singificantly in this area, chiefly in mainland, during the late Pleistocene and early Holocene. The environmental changes have caused the cultural changes. The core pebble industries have been rplaced by the flake ones (such as Lang Rongrien, Nguom), and these flake industries replaced in turn by the core pebble ones (such as Sonviian, Hoabinhian). This may represent the human adaptation in response to the changes in ecological conditions.
