Abstract:	English summary on page 8 as follws: The author states that there was no pottery in the Hoa Binh culture, even in the Bac Son cutlure. Pottery created only in 3 centres as Da But, Cai Beo - Ha Long and Quynh Van - Bau Tro by the inhabitants lived in coastal plains who considered the exlpoitation of marine fauna as the main mode of living activities.However, as soon as pottery emerged, if revealsed particular local characteristics.
