English summary on page 58 as follows: Custom of jar burial is a popular form of burying of ancient habitants in Vietnam. This known custom came into being in Neolithic in Tay Nguyen and has developed till early iron periods of Pau Tro, Sa Huynh and Dong Son cultures. Especially, it was a traditional burying in Sa Huynh culture, from the early period to the late one, and jars were buried in the same standing position as those of burialsin Tay Nguyen and Bau Tro. In the mean time, jars were buried in horizontal position in Dong Son culture. Jar burials in Vietnam have developed and changed through historic periods, which are marked by the changes of jars in form, lids, buried position and its accompanied artifacts.
