Abstract:	Most archaeological interpretations of the later prehistory of central Thailand are made using data derived primarily from west-central and north-central Thailand. This bias tends to ignore the potential that other areas in the central Plain of Thailand may provide an understanding of the archaeology of Thailand and Southeast Asia. Recent excavations at Chaibadan in east-central Thailand yielded a relatively large number of complete and nearly complete ceramic vessels. Preliminary study of stylistic variation among 14 vessels from the site of Chaibadan has revealed a discrete ceramic tradition.
