Reviewing the discoveries and studies of colour pottery in Vietnam, she draws a conclusion: Vietnamese colour-pottery were distributed mainly in coastal area of Central Vietnam, the earliest during late neolithic and latest during early iron Age, Vietnamese colour pottery from various cultures show similarities and differences. The differences lie in the regional characters and periods of development. These similarities and differences have given Vietnamese colour-pottery a traditrion which is completely different from other centers in the world. Together with colour-pottery materials in Borneo, a hypothesis is not ruled out on the existence of Southeast Asian coulour-pottery tradition with certain characteristics: coloured (and not painted) in red ochre, lead grey or graphite, the colours were put on pottery after baking
this colouring factor was always combined with other decorative factors such as coired, cord-marked and brushed.
