Abstract: English summary on page 76 as follows: The grains of rice form Dong Dau, dated from 3330 ± 100 B.P., are of the rounded -- grain type, somewhat close to the cultivated rice Oryza sativa L. Those types from Hoa Lu, 10th century, are of the oval type. Those from Xuong Giang, 15th century are of the oval leaning to oblong type. Those from Ba Dinh, 19th century are of the oval type. By these four samples, the aspect of the grain and its size as well are shown to be subject to transformation acording to epoch. Were much more samples of rice husk and their impression mark as well, of various hitorical periods from different localities considered, one should realize a more genuine picture of the rice-plant's development along the history.
