During the course of a year a considerable number of items of archaeological interest come to light in the Federation and around the beaches of the Colony of Singapore. Some of these find their way into the museums, some do not, but in either case, under present circumstances, there is likely to be a considerable delay in detailed documentation. To bridge this gap it is proposed to publish annually in this Journal a series of short notes on the lines given below. This present series can not claim to be complete but contains all local archaeological items received by the Baffles Museum, or added to the present writer's collection, since the liberation. The latter collection is for the time being kept in the Department of the Adviser on Aborigines in Kuala Lumpur.
