| Abstract: | Archaeological work in the Mariana Islands and on Guam has provided a basis for reconstructing the socio-political organization of late prehistoric populations of these islands. The study of architecture plays a special part in these archaeological interpretations. Architectural aspects of ethnographically documented societies in Luzon area are used for comparison in order to develop a model for the socioeconomic system of the prehistoric Marianas. |
