| Abstract: |
Describes one particular rainforest ecosystem in this country, and the forces which have precipitated changes there in the last quarter century. Focus is placed on the Negrito hunter-gatherers who have lived in this rainforest for thousands of years, and who are today undergoing rapid deculturation. The Agta population decline is used as ameasure for documenting the adaptive failure of this group to its changing ecosystem. What is happening to ALL of the rainforests today will effect everyone in the world in the all run. How: governments trying to get to move into "modern" cities, deforestation, decline of wild game, road systems, multinational corporations, etc.
