Title: The application of ecological theory in anthropology
Date: 1962
Source: American Anthropologist
Abstract: Overview of ecological anthropological theory up to 1960. pg 18 Ecological theory, when applied to man, mandates a number of theses whihc are contrary to widespread subcultural values in the social science. For example such theory suggests that: 1) genetically different groups of men will not behave the same if exposed to identical cultural environments
2) cultures whihc develop in different physical environments will be different
3) man through his culture alone does not control his biology and physical environment.
