The coastal area of Thailand consists of two main regions, the Andaman sea coast on the west and the Gulf of Thailand coast on the east. In part, the coastal landform is related to sea level changes, particularly those occuring during the Quaternary period.The evidence of former sea levels is discussed with reference to the sea level curve of Thailand. Due to possible errors in C14 dates, tectonic activity, elevation and tidal indicators, it can be assumed that it will not be possible to draw a good curve of Holocene sea levels in Thailand. In addition, interpretation is made difficult because the coastal areas of these regions have remained tectonically active. Evidence of shoreline erosion has been found in many places.
