Abstract:	The following text is a continuation of a report on ethnographic material collected on three different visits to the Umphāi group of villages, and on the first anthropological survey of the northern Lawā. Part I of the report appeared in JSS, volume 60 part I (January 1972); part II will be followed by two more parts. A note on pronunciation, a glossary of principal terms, and a bibliography are appended to this part.
