| Abstract: | This chapter summarises the latest archaeological evidence related to the origins of farming in China, focusing on archaeobotanical evidence of rice, millet and other key plant species that formed the early farming systems in Yunnan. It also syntheses earlier theories of agricultural origins in China and Yunnan, along with criteria for identifying domesticated species and their growing requirements. |
