Various geophysical methods were used in order to test whether buried structures, settlement layout, tombs and craft production areas were identifiable in the tropical alluvial soils of Central Thailand. It is demonstrated that buildings such as palaces and temples in which fired or caliche brick were used, some canals and drainage ditches, burials no deeper than 2.5 metres below the surface and some ceramic production areas were discoverable by geophysical means. No metallurgical activities were identified, perhaps due to their dispersed nature.
