Abstract:	This report presents interim results from archaeological fieldwork in the northern Moluccas, on the islands of Kayoa, Halmahera and Morotai. Results span from the preceramic of about 10,000 (perhaps 40,000) years ago, through a phase of early red-slipped pottery and marsupial extinction about 3500 years ago, into the Early Metal Phase of the last millennium. Research is still continuing.
