The Cai Van site at village III, Long Tho Hamlet, Nham Trach districtDong Nai province was investigated and excavated for many times. The achievements of the study so far has shown that the Cai Van workshops site dated from the Middle Bronze Age with dominated economic activities as farming, fishing at the river and sea and some other handicrafts. The article introduces the first study of the products of pottery. 1) Cai van pottery was under control of the local materials, i.e. river alluvium with disingrated vegetation and remarkable amount of tempered substance from seashells. 2) Cai Van pottery consists of two basis types: fine and soft, soft pottery was with higher rate than some contemporary sites in Nam Bo. 3) Cai Van pottery is rich with 12 types of rim shapes, three types of ring-foot and other types including Ca Rang (pottery kitchen supporters). 4) Beside a remarkable amount of painted potsherds, there were a lot of pottery with combed, cord, incised and pressed designs. Incised desighs were substantial with various motifs. It is possible to notice pottery with spread ring- foot, dotted wolf - teeth shaped designs or painted designs are typical for Cai Van site.
