Go Mun culture is pre-Dong Son in the basin of Red river. The development of this culture caused different ideas. Based on the new dates rather enough for Go Mun culture, the author states that Go Mun cultures developed through 3 periods: the first period with typical upper layer of Dong Dau (Vinh Phu prov)
the second period with its typical lower layer and the third period with the typical upper layer of Go Mun (Vinh Phy). The author presents some basic characteristics of the sites and their artifacts to prove that constant development
especially in the third period appeared new factors, preparing for the emergence of a new rice culture - Dong Son culture.
