English summary on page 232 as follows: From 15,000 years ago to nowaday, in Hanoi and its surroundings, many geological upheavals happened by the level raising of Red river alluvium, transgressions and regressions. Im geological aspect, the Late Pleistocene sediments were of Vinh Phuc strantum (QIV² vp) of continental origins(river-lake-marsh). This is possible to observe on terraces at Dong Anh, Tu Liem, Soc Son (Hanoi) and Thach that (Ha Tay prov.). The Holocene sediments in Hanoi were formed by Hai Hung (OIV1-2hh) and Thai Binh (QIV³ tb) strata stagnated in transgression and by alluvium of Red River system. These formations originated from lake-marsh or sea-lake-marsh. Based on the study of the quarternary sediments, the authorbrings out some commens on the problems of the environment of Hanoi.
