English summary on page 37 as follows: In the study of bronze drums, drum « x » or the earliest protype remains in the dark. Recently, Chinese scholars dealing with bronze drums expressed views that the western part eof Central esunnan is the cradle if bronze drums, and Y rated Wan-chia-pa froup as the earliest. Throug the aenalysis of this group in all aspects: shapes, decorations, casting technique, relationship with accompanied archaeological artefacts...the author has refuted the above viewpoints of chinese scholars. Also on the basis of analysis fo prmies leading to the birth, use and preservation fo bronze drums as well as the distributions of the earliest Dongs onian drums, the author gives guidancetothef inding of earliest drums in three areas: Red river delta, Tien Lake and the basin Jo Siyang river, and the Red river valley
