English summary on page 72 as follows: Southeast Asia got such coinage during World War II only. Since then, public opinion more and more treats this region as a worlds geo-cultural entity. This is partly due to political events but such a phenomenon originates from a remote historical and cultural background, and sciences do help in the restoration and contribution to SEA consciousness. Not archaeology alone, yet archaeology indeed has made valuable suggestions and demonstration to the age-old and close relations among SEA communities, since prehistoric times, particularly since the Metal Age, manifested by the Dongsonian culture which was flourishing in the Red River delta. The Red River shed light on the position of Viet Nam in SEA right from its history source. It also focussed the unfolding of history, not only of Viet Nam, but of the whole SEA too, ever since. With an established identity since the Dong Son periodm SEA ethnics who camr into contact with Chinese or indian civilisation had enhanced their identities and strengthened the features and traits of each nation, such as the striking inheritance of people's cause of the Hung Kings by the Vietnamese. The urge of the present struggle against the reactionary forces has further consolidated and reinforced the SEA consciousness despite the attempts of the imperialists and expansionists to make use of this consciousness for sowing division and discord.
