English summary on page 77 as follows: About 200 axes discovered just in the Dong Son area are likely to be classified in three groups: rectangular, symetrical and assymetrical axes. These groups might be subdivised into different types: one for rectangular axes

six distributed in two subgroups (a, b) for assymetrical ones. After 22 detailed remarks, the author draws conclusions: --There did exist neither type than the socketed one among the Dong Sons axes. --The Dong Son socketed axes had their own long date processus of evolution. The assymetrical axe was a kind of knife of common use. The rectangular one owes its origin to the stone axe. The axe and adze characteristics found in the symetrical axe did exist as far as in the late neolithic. --its quite original for the assymetrical axe being the peculiar heritage of Viet Nam. The subgroup a made its appearance as far as in the late bronze age and gained its currency in the early iron age. The originality if Dong Son axes makes them being considered as an ethnic characteristic.
