English summary on page 76 as follows:Two bronze sickles and a lot of reaping knives of bronze as well. 3,000 - 2,500 years ago, were recovered from the North Viet nam delta. A comparison with other ancient reaping implements and with the ethnographic data allows us considering: --These reaping knives are prototypes of the South East Asian reaping knives series in reaping - collecting ears one by one. The Viet have got perfection on this type, the "nhip" --The bronze sickles are used in reaping at once many ears and evolved into the "vang", a type of hooked sickle widespread in southern Indochina. --Vietnamese peasants have combined the vang with the most advanced type of nhip to create the "hai", a type of hooked-sickle now widespread in northern Viet Nam. The evolution of the reaping - set shows the ancient Vit have had close relations with other ancient peoples in South East Asia and have played a significant role in the evolution of rice cultivation in this area.
