Abstract:	The Palaeolithic Seafaring Debate has broad ramifications for the history of humanity. We have repeatedly stressed that more is at stake than simply a matter of niche interest regarding the antiquity of island colonization. The general understanding of hominin dispersal around the planet is one of increasing behavioral and adaptive repertoires, associated with increasingly large brains, which allowed members of the genus Homo to move into or through previously challenging and ever more varied environments.
