Rach Dong site at Ho Nai IV village, Thong Nhat district Dong Nai province was discovered at the beginning of 1991 and excavated in December 1992. The site was a round hill with the diametre of 16-18m, 2.5m higher than the rice field level. There discovered 4 brick architectures with square plan: 2 large architectures in the west half and the other small ones in the east half of the hill. The finds consist of some pieces of broken stone statues, one mortar, 2 stone axes (one is quadrangular and one is shouldered) and 5 thin pieces of gold with excised, human and zoomorphic figures, a lot of potsherds and several iron nails. Rach Dong was of the type of brick architecture on the hill, similar to Go Buong, Dong Bo, Nam Cat Tien sites distributed in Dong Nai province or at Ba The - Oc Eo in the southwest. Rach Dong might be the tomb like the other ones found in the Oc Eo culture with the dates about the 6th to the 7th centuries A.D.
